Outdoor Sport & Activities Return!

From 29 March

How do the latest restrictions apply to sport and physical activity? Today marks the lifting of certain Government restrictions, allowing outdoor sport and activities to return.

Please find below all of the relevant information that applies to our customers using our outdoor facilities here at the Sports Centre and what this means for you.

Outdoor informal sport/activity:

Rule of six or two households in a public place/garden. Groups larger than 6 wanting to play outdoor sport will be required to provide proof of term time household address at the time of booking.

Outdoor group activity/coaching inc. group walks (organised):

Organised outdoor sport and physical activity can return if formally organised by a qualified instructor, club, national governing body (NGB), company or charity. Please follow sport-specific guidance where appropriate. Social distancing must be adhered to at all times before and after play and during times of non active participation, such as breaks.

Please note: This guidance does NOT allow an individual to organise a regular group training session, as this is not considered as ‘organised sport’. This is because the organising body has considered the risks and set out ways to mitigate them so people can participate safely. Informal or self-organised sport is not covered by any exemptions.

Outdoor exercise classes/personal training (organised):

Can happen following COVID-secure guidance and NGB guidance where appropriate.
